Prolonged Sitting Is Hazardous to Your Health

A recent study shows that sitting for a long time whether at work or home is bad for your health. According to Bernard Duviver of Masstricht University, sitting 14 hours per day increases insulin, cholesterol, and triglycerides. Elevated insulin, cholesterol, and triglycerides are responsible for an increased risk of heart attack and stroke. Furthermore, Dubiver reported that sitting 13 hours per day and then exercising intensely was not as effective at improving cardiovascular and metabolic health as sitting for 6 hours and only walking at a moderate pace for four hours. The basic concept of the study is that it is better to be moderately active for longer periods of time than it is to be extremely active for a short amount of time. (PlosOne, February, 2013)

Capsaicin For Fat Loss

Capsaicin is the hot compound found in the pepper called capsicum.

A study from the Netherlands, showed that diets supplemented with capsaicin, extra protein, or both helped to create a feeling of satiety. The study also found that adding capsaicin increased energy expenditure and may thus aid in weight loss. (Journal of Nutrition, February, 2013). Other possible benefits of capsaicin are arthritis pain relief, improved circulation, and nerve pain reduction.
